Welcome to how it all began. The tale of how I found myself thriving in the world of fitness.
"Fitness is not about being better than someone else; it's about being better than you used to be."
Hello. My name is Grace and if you told me a few years ago that I'd be sat writing about how I transformed my whole life and mindset into everything I'd ever wanted through physical and mental fitness, I would never have believed you. Yet, here I am, sharing my story of exactly that and loving the life I have created for myself.

I have struggled for as long as I can remember with severe depression, intrusive thoughts, and disorders that attach to those. It caused me to go through cycles of incredibly unhealthy fitness fads to try and get "quick fixes" wherever I could. However, they only suppressed my health and my spark further and, in the long run, were way more harmful to me than helpful. Both mentally and physically. I needed a big change and a few years ago, I found it.
I was looking for outside help because I knew I couldn't do it myself and through that, I met an online coach who understood me and the obstacles I was facing. Step-by-step, using exercise as an anchor, I was pulled out of the wellness whirlpool I had found myself in and began sailing myself in the right direction. This began my drive and inspiration for the slow and steady journey into the trainer I have become today.

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though. There were ups and downs the whole way through and I felt like giving up on more than just one occasion. Where would that have got me though? Back to a life and self that only held me back? No thank you! So on I struggled, with motivation and support from my family, my coach, and the little inspirational messages I'd write to myself and stick on my gym gear.
Then, one day during a particularly difficult training session, I had the thought "this is what I want to do...I want to help people like me who have had a set-back and are struggling, and people who have the goals but need the motivation." My brain burst into overdrive after that and in the following months I pushed myself harder than I ever had to self learn and attend workshops for Instructing and Training to gain experience and knowledge like never before.
Inspiration was everywhere...
My life became about the transformation of how people see themselves and vocation to change those views. We are all beautiful souls, all that's missing to see that is your own confidence and belief in yourself. That's where the name Metamor Fitness came from too - metamorphosis, the act of breaking yourself down to the core to build yourself back up into something stronger than before.
My own journey was not the only inspiration I had to begin Metamor Fitness, the inspiration was everywhere. I have known many in life who have struggled, or still struggle, with either physical or mental health problems, be it from an illness or incident that has happened, or just an underlying niggle. Their journeys are not mine but in instances are not dissimilar and knowing that all it could take to change somebody's life in a positive way is a just a little nudge from the right person makes me want to be that right person and help as many people as I can to reclaim their spark, their fire, their powerful essence.
